Location
The Fondazione IRCCS SANTA LUCIA conference centre
is located in Via Ardeatina, 354 - 00179 Roma,
not too far from the centre of Rome. This area
is linked to the centre by means of an efficient
city bus service. Access to the airport is also
relatively easy thanks to the nearby ring road
leading to the Rome-Fiumicino highway.
The Santa Lucia conference centre (built in 1996)
covers an overall area of about 2,500 square meters;
this includes a 494-seat auditorium, 6 smaller
rooms of about 80 seats each, as well as other
spaces that will be used for the poster presentations
and and exhibits.
The conference centre is adjacent to the Santa
Lucia Institute, which is specialised for neuromotor
rehabilitation. It serves as a private IRCCS (Istituto
di Ricovero e Cura a Carattere Scientifico - Scientific
Institute for Research, Hospitalisation and Health
Care) and was founded as a non-profit corporation.
President: A. Brutti, General Director: L. Amadio,
Scientific Director: C. Caltagirone. The Santa
Lucia Foundation was selected in May 2002 as European
Centre dedicated to the study of the human brain
(European Brain Research Institute, EBRI).
